How to Exclude Products from a Klip Coupon
Excluding specific items from a coupon allows you to run more targeted promotions and protect certain products from being discounted. With the Exclude products option, you can choose to exclude products, variants, collections, or tags from your coupon.
1. Create or Edit a Coupon
Go to your Klip Dashboard and either create a new coupon or click on the name of an existing coupon you want to modify.
2. Click “Exclude Products”
In the coupon setup page, scroll down until you see the Exclude products option. Click on it to open the exclusion settings.

3. Choose the Exclude Type
After clicking Exclude products, you’ll see a dropdown menu labeled Exclude type. From here, you can choose what kind of exclusion you want to apply:
- Products – Exclude specific products.
- Variants – Exclude only certain variants of a product.
- Collections – Exclude entire collections.
- Tags – Exclude all products that share a specific tag.

4. Select Items to Exclude
After choosing the Exclude type, click Browse to search for and select the products, variants, collections, or tags you want to exclude from the coupon.
Once selected, these items will not be eligible for the discount at checkout.

5. Save the Coupon Settings
Click Save to apply your changes. Your coupon is now ready to use and will automatically exclude the specified products, variants, collections, or tags.
6. Test the Coupon
Add both excluded and eligible items to your cart and apply the coupon to make sure the exclusions are working as expected.
Why Use Product Exclusions?
Product exclusions help you fine-tune how discounts are applied, ensuring more control and flexibility in your campaigns. They’re especially useful if you want to:
- Avoid discounting high-margin or limited-stock products
- Protect items already part of another promotion
- Keep new releases or premium products at full price
- Target discounts toward specific product categories or collections
By excluding specific products, variants, collections, or tags, you can run more intentional and profitable campaigns while maintaining full control over your store’s discounts.
