How to Limit How Many Times a Coupon Can be Used Per Order

Setting order limits for your Klip Coupons is a great way to control how many times a customer can use a coupon in one order. For example, you can limit the coupon to apply only to one product in the entire order, even if multiple eligible items are in the cart. This ensures the discount is limited to a single use per checkout.

1. Access Your Klip Dashboard
Go to your Klip Dashboard and either create a new coupon or click on an existing coupon that you want to edit.

2. Set a Coupon Limit per Order
Navigate to the Eligibility & Target section.
Find and enable the "Set coupon limit for each order" option.
Enter the maximum number of times the coupon can be used in a single order. For example, if you enter 1, the coupon will only apply to one product in the entire order, even if multiple eligible items are in the cart. This ensures the discount is limited to a single use per checkout.

3. Save and Preview
Click Save at the top right corner of the Klip Dashboard to apply your changes.
Test your settings by visiting your store:
Add multiple eligible products (either the same product or different ones) to your cart.
Check that the discount is applied only to the number of products specified in your coupon settings.

4. Customize Messaging (Optional)
Use the Coupon Details Popover feature to provide a clear explanation about the product limit directly on the product page. For example, you can add a note such as:
"This coupon can only be applied to one product per order."
This helps avoid confusion and ensures customers understand how the coupon works before proceeding to checkout.

5. Update as Needed
You can revisit this setting anytime to adjust the order limit based on your promotion requirements.
