How to Set Coupon Usage Limits per Product

Setting product limits for your Klip Coupons lets you control how many times a coupon can be applied to the same product within a single order. This is useful if you want the discount to apply only to the first item added to the cart or to a limited number of items, while excluding the rest. Here’s how to set it up:

1. Access Your Klip Dashboard

  • Go to your Klip Dashboard and either create a new coupon or click on an existing coupon that you want to edit.

2. Set a Per-Product Limit

  • Navigate to the Eligibility & Target section.
  • Find and enable the Limit per product option.
  • Set the maximum number of times the coupon can be applied to the same product in a single order.

For example, enter 1 to apply the coupon to only one unit of the product. Enter 3 to apply the coupon to up to three units of the same product. Any additional units will not receive the discount.

3. Save and Preview

  • Click Save in the top-right corner of the Klip Dashboard to apply your changes.
  • Go to your store and add multiple units of the same product to the cart to test how the limit is applied. The discount should only apply to the number of units specified in the coupon settings.

4. Customize Messaging (Optional)

  • Use the Coupon Details Popover feature to explain the product limit directly on the product page.
  • For example: “This coupon applies only to the first 3 units of this product.”
  • This helps avoid confusion and ensures customers understand how the coupon works before checkout.

5. Update as Needed

  • You can revisit this setting at any time to adjust the product limit based on your promotion requirements.
  • For special events or high-demand products, consider lowering the limit to create urgency.
