Limitations of Klip Coupons

How Klip Coupons Work and Things to Know

Klip Coupons lets you create special discounts for products, shipping, or the entire order. When you install Klip Coupons, our app automatically creates three special Shopify discounts:

• Klip Product Discount
• Klip Shipping Discount
• Klip Order Discount



These three discounts are used by Klip for all the coupons you create, so they don’t count toward Shopify’s discount limit. This way, Klip ensures you can offer as many coupons as you want without worrying about Shopify’s discount limit.

However, it's important to note that Shopify allows only five automatic app discounts at a time. If you use other apps that create automatic discounts, keep this limit in mind to avoid conflicts.

Types of Klip Coupons

With Klip Coupons, you can make three kinds of discounts:

• Product Discounts: Discounts on specific products.

• Shipping Discounts: Discounts on shipping costs.

• Order Discounts: Discounts on the total amount of the order.

How Klip Coupons Work with Shopify Discounts

• Using Shopify Discounts with Klip:

Klip Coupons use Shopify’s discount system, so you don’t use up your allowed discount slots in Shopify by making coupons within Klip.

• Combining with Automatic Discounts:

If you have an automatic discount set up in Shopify, make sure it’s allowed to combine with both product and order discounts so it can combine with Klip Coupons.

• How Coupons Are Applied with Klip:

When only one coupon is applied to the cart, it is treated as a single product discount. However, if two or more Klip Coupons are applied in the same order, they will be combined and considered as an order discount.

Because of this, if you intend to use multiple Klip Coupons in one order, any additional Shopify discounts you want to combine with them must be set to combine with order discounts in Shopify.



Example:

If you have an automatic product discount in Shopify that you want to use along with a Klip Coupon, you need to check the box in Shopify to allow it to combine with product and order discounts.

Limitations with Manually Entered Codes: If a customer enters a discount code manually (not through Klip), it will override any Klip Coupon applied to the order. This is a limitation within Shopify’s discount system.

Tips for Using Discounts Together

• When setting up discounts, think about which discounts you want customers to be able to combine.

• Shopify will always pick the best discount combination to give customers the biggest savings.

• If customers try to use discounts that can’t go together, Shopify will show a message that says the discounts can’t be combined.

Common Questions

Can customers use more than one Klip Coupon on the same order?

You can let customers use more than one Klip Coupon on the same order. To do this, go to the settings in Klip Coupons and turn on the “Show Multiple Coupons” option. Once this is enabled, customers will be able to add multiple Klip Coupons to their cart and enjoy even more savings on their order.
